Beaumont Scout Reservation
Beaumont Scout Reservation is located just off Highway 44, which can be reached by 270 and then making a left
if you are headed north, or a right if you are heading south.
Lane, Shippey, Laemmli, and Nusser areas are available to Scout troops for free use. Troops may hike to
Outpost camps Blackberry Hollow and Toad Hollow. There are eight cabins available to scout troops. Five
of these cabins can hold 20 scouts and are heated by wood stoves. Two cabins can hold 14 scouts and are
heated by furnaces. The last cabin is new and can hold 40 scouts, or two small troops of 20. Beaumont
has many different programs like orienteering, pioneering, horseback riding, hayrides, a climbing tower,
and a ropes course.
The horseback riding program-- there are generally 20 horses available from September to June. Rides do cost money.
The hayride program-- All rides begin and end at the Nagel Exploring Base inside of Beaumont. Available March to
May, and August to November. Maximum number of people per wagon is 20.

Wappapello Lake
Pool Lodge
On Wappapello Lake, Pool Lodge is able to accommodate 24 campers.
The lodge is available year-round, with the exception of summer camp season.
It has indoor plumbing, and is also equipped with a fireplace and stove.
Baker Lodge
Baker Lodge is a relatively new beautiful lodge
located on Wappapello Lake, it is available to Scout troops year-round with the
exception of during summer camp season. It has a very modern
bathroom facility including plumbing and hot showers. The lodge’s
sleeping area is equipped with 15 bunk beds and mattresses. The
main hall of the lodge includes a lofted ceiling and a stone fireplace.
Adjoining the main hall is a kitchen equipped with a stove, refrigerator,
and sink. Baker Lodge can accommodate up to 30 campers.
Both lodges provide close access to Wappapello Lake. Fun-filled
days of fishing, swimming, or boating can be capped off by fun-filled evenings at
the Wappapello Lake Lodges.
Pine Ridge
Pine Ridge is located in the heart of the Illinois Ozarks along the shores of Little
Grassy Lake, southeast of Carbondale. The land is part of the
Crab Orchard National Wildlife Refuge. Scouts have unbelievable
outdoor resources at their disposal. The camp is located on the
northwest shore of the lake. From Giant City Road, turn on State
Fish Hatchery Road. Once you have crossed the dam, turn right
on the gravel road and follow it to the camp. Year-round camping
and fishing is available.
Pine Ridge has 3 teepees for your troop to erect and spend the weekend in at Pine
Ridge. A trained leader from you unit is required.
Front and Scout Lodges are available for meetings, training
sessions, or courts of honor.
